Easy DIY Father’s Day Gift

If you have a dad, or a husband, who likes to grill, bake, smoke… this is the perfect gift idea for you. It doesn’t just have to be for Father’s Day, or just for men. You can gift these bad boys out in masses during Christmas, and knock everyone off your gift list for less than $5 a piece, all while showing you care.

This project is super simple and the recipe is for my “Everything Rub.” This is literally good on everything! Just this past weekend, hubby and I smoked bratwurst and country style ribs. I’m actually eating left overs while I write this post [nummers!]. We’ve used it on baked chicken, grilled salmon, pan seared ribeyes… seriously, rub it on anything you want for an awesome kick of flavor.

Supplies
Pint and Half Ball Mason jar
Chalk tags
Chalk
Some bakers twine, or any other ribbon

My Chalk & Tags
I got my chalk and tags from Stitch Crafty 4U. They rock! They have a really awesome assortment of chalk tags -plus- fabric boxes, wine totes and all other sorts of interesting stock. AND… the owner is really cool, so you can’t beat that.

Ingredients
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup paprika
2 tablespoons black pepper
2 tablespoons salt
2 tablespoons onion powder
2 tablespoons ground cumin
2 tablespoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons cayenne

Directions...
Pour your ingredients into your jar.

You can leave as is [it looks pretty cool], or you can go ahead and shake it.

Mark your chalk tag with whatever you’d like to say. Tie your string around the top and VOILA! Gift done. Five minutes, a couple of bucks… handmade with love!
