clean eats | Smoked Dry Rub Recipe

So you’re a clean eater, at least part time – or maybe you are just waist conscious – and you are craving BBQ. Happens to us all, especially me living out here in BBQ country. I can’t drive a mile down the road without seeing a billboard with some sort of smoked awesomeness.

This recipe is really grand. It’s got all the kick of a flavorful Memphis style dry rub, without all the sugar. You can rub as much of this on your organic/natural pork, chicken, tofu, etc… and bake, grill and smoke away… and don’t have to worry about cracking your diet.

Ingredients
14 packs Truvia
1/4 cup smoked paprika
1 tablespoon black pepper
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 teaspoon cayenne

Directions
Pour all of your ingredients into an air tight container. Give a few shakes and you’re done! Ready to use like any other rub.

If you want to gift these [they make beautiful gifts], don’t mix the seasonings. Leave them all cool and separated in quilted 4 ounce Mason jars. You can pick them up at your local Wal-Mart, back with the other canning jars and supplies. This recipe fills one up perfectly. You can get a dozen of them for about $5 bucks. Slap on some super cute home-made labels and you’re ready to gift.
