My entire family and I all have very sensitive skin which was one of the top motivating factors in beginning to go all natural and organic. When overhauling your entire lifestyle one must prioritize where to begin and slowly work down the list until the last offender has been kicked to the curb. Years ago when we began, all personal care and beauty products were at the top of our list. Your skin, the largest organ of the body, is exposed to the chemicals in the products you use multiple times a day. It has been reported that the average person absorbs 5 pounds of chemicals a year just from lotions, makeup, deodorants, shampoo, conditioner and other beauty and personal care products. When recently on the lookout for new natural products, I found Emily’s Beauty in Balance. I have had the extreme pleasure of meeting Emily, interviewing her and trying her amazing creations.

Emily and her husband met while both playing in LA bands. After a few years of friendship, they knew they were madly in love. After beginning there relationship she decided to go back to school to pursue a change of lifestyle. She studied Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology at the University of California, Santa Cruz. She always loved girly 'smelly stuff' and always preferred natural zen like products, which is a clear inspiration in the overall design of every one of her amazing creations.
From a very early age she knew she did not want the 'status quo'. She saw people going to work day in and day out, not enjoying their lives and not enjoying their days. With a yearning for freedom, a way to enjoy every day and a deep love for balanced ingredients and a balanced life, Beauty in Balance was born.
Emily designs and formulates products that specifically treat certain conditions such as sensitive skin, acne, rosacea, premature aging and more in the gentlest way possible. She formulates each product using the absolute best natural and organic botanical ingredients. More than simply pure, her products also provide essential nutrients that work synergistically to promote powerful and lasting results such as softer, healthier skin and stronger, more lustrous hair. Her products are produced by hand in small batches. She will begin by choosing a gentle base like Aloe Vera or an organic flower distillate, and then adds pure essential oils, vitamins and antioxidants. The formula is perfected and packaged in environmentally friendly bottles and jars with hand cut labels.
In her continuing effort to offer the highest quality products and to honor the health and vitality of her customers and the environment, she maintains a commitment to sulfate free, paraben free, phthalate free, petroleum free, artificial fragrance free, dye free and cruelty free ingredients.
Just this past week I was able to try her organic Australian Tea Tree, Lavender and Peppermint shampoo and her Jojoba Rose moisture crème. The shampoo is bright and invigorating. It is a much welcomed addition to an early morning shower. It literally energizes and leaves hair clean, clarified and rejuvenated. The Jojoba Rose moisture crème has a deliciously delicate authentic rose scent that absorbs quick and leaves skin perfectly moisturized, never oily. This is the first facial product I have ever tried since having acne 12 years ago. I have never been more excited. I have actually found an amazing all natural facial product that is feminine and alluring while simultaneously softening, protecting and leaving a radiant complexion. I will not be going back to my old facial moisturizer.

I would also highly recommend the Jasmine Rose Petal Himalayan and Dead Sea salt bath soak. I love relaxing in the tub and have tried a variety of soaks, but never like this one. It is a specially formulated therapeutic blend that actually softens skin and soothes tired muscles. It doesn’t just look and smell amazing, it also serves a purpose. It doesn’t get any better than that.
