Easy 20 Minute Hair Repair Mask
People spend so much money on hair repair treatments at the spa or synthetic products from the store to repair hair. In 15 years I have never found anything on the market or in the salon that fixes better than natural home remedies. You really can get the same exact salon quality results and better for only a couple bucks and a couple minutes in your own home. All you need to know is what you are treating for and you can specially mix the perfect solution for just about anything.
So I recently have been diving into natural temporary coloring. I’ve been coloring every 4 weeks to find the right shade for me. I’m just looking for richness and depth and a color a few shades darker then my original natural ash brown coloring. Of course this has dried out the ends of my hair which is a bummer because I’m growing it out. Keeping the ends healthy is really important because with longer hair types the ends can be several years old. Quality care is a must for quality hair!
This mask will rebalance pH which will reduce frizz, close hair cuticles, mend split ends and dry ends and increase shine and smoothness. It will also moisturize the hair and scalp tremendously. It also helps to naturally treat dandruff and an itchy scalp and rebalance hair and scalp health all for under $2 per treatment! You can use this mask up to 3-5 times a week if you need for major repair. For minor care you can use as little as once a month to maintain balance and health.
For people who straighten hair you can expect incredibly smooth, frizz resistant and super shiny results after even just 1 application. For people with curlier styles you can expect shine, bounce and better curl formation after even just 1 application.
>>> INGREDIENTS <<<
1 cup olive oil mayonnaise
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
>>> NOTE <<<
Yes! That is all you need. The acv is acidic which is the perfect conditioner for the hair and it helps to rebalance pH. There is already egg in the mayonnaise which is awesome for protein repair and helps specifically with curlier hair types which desperately need extra protein. Then it’s also full of olive oil, canola oil and soybean oil for extra moisture.
>>> DIRECTIONS <<<
All you are going to do is mix the two ingredients together and you’ll have a nice, smooth, thick hair mask all ready to go. This is such a great recipe because its drip and mess free.
Gently brush your dry hair and start to apply the mask. You can really slather it on and can even massage it into the hair and scalp like shampoo until it’s through all the layers and super thick. Really lay it on. This amount will cover up to medium length hair that is very thick. If you have a longer hair type, just double the recipe.
Then cover all of your hair with saran wrap. Take 2 long pieces of toilet paper, about 18 inches a piece. Fold both of them in half lengthwise, then fold them in half lengthwise again. Wrap one piece around the base of your hair from front to back and tuck behind your ears. Then wrap the other piece around the base of your hair from back to front and tuck behind the front piece.
Now you have a perfect mask that is self-heating and the toilet paper lining the bottom keeps anything from dripping during the entire process. Go and do something for 20 minutes and then you’re done! Just wash and condition like normal, dry and style your hair. Enjoy the beautiful, smooth results!
