{recipe} Banana Stuffed Doughnuts
Okay - so this recipe isn't as bad for you as you might think. It's pretty much a giant piece of banana wrapped in a pancake. This is a great breakfast treat. I made them up when I learned to make homemade doughnuts at 4H camp, like, 20 years ago...wow...time really does fly by. Anyway - awesome treat...great for breakfast, dessert or a crazy late night snack. Kids will go wild. No problem getting in there fruit servings with these little guys.
Ingredients
4 large bananas, quartered
1 cup Bisquick mix
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
3 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
Directions
Heat either an inch of oil in a deep skillet, or a deep fryer anywhere between 350 to 375 degrees. Mix the Bisquick, egg and milk in a bowl. Mix together, in a separate bowl, the powdered sugar and cinnamon - you're going to use this for sprinkling at the end of the recipe, so just set it aside. Dip each banana quarter into the Bisquick batter and fry until golden brown. Transfer to a paper towel and sprinkle as lightly or as heavily with the powdered sugar and cinnamon mixture as you like - and serve! Enjoy!!
